The best question asked at our 2013 Sportshows:

"Why should we stay at your lodge and not somewhere else in Alaska?"

  1. We only take up to 10 guests at our lodge and everyone stays in the lodge, where you are provided many comforts that other lodges in our area are not able to provide, such as very clean and comfortable pillow top mattresses in your room, private bath accommodations when requested, running water with a great water filtration system, electricity, laundry facility for your use day or night, and heaters in every room for your comfort.  Your rooms are clean and dry and we provide bath towels, hand towels and all other bath amentities daily.
  2. Our lodge has two great rooms to meet and mingle with other guests or for your privacy.  We have a large fire place in the main lodge great room and windows that surround you for the most spectacular view of the ocean, mountains and all the wildlife outside our door.  Our lower level great room has a large walk out area to the lower level deck, a fireplace, tv and lounge area for your personal use.
  3. When you book a fishing trip, a whale watching or glacier tour, you will be in a new 2013 Seawolf boat.  Our boat is 30' length, 11' beam with twin 250 engines.  We have a spacious heated cabin with a stand up, enclosed head with a deck entrance and sink.  The boat is equipped with shrimp and crab pot pullers, down riggers, and a full electronic and navigational system, including GPS, fish finder and Fusion iPod stereo with external speakers.  We use only the best fishing gear/tackle and rain gear.  Quality and comfort are a top priority for us, and that is what we provide to every guest.
  4. We only fish up to 6 guests on our boat, so everyone is always fishing and keeping their own catch.
  5. While fishing you will drop shrimp pots and crab pots.
  6. Our lodge is all inclusive, we include meals, lodging, fish processing, very clean and comfortable rain gear, top of the line fishing gear, and use of self guided boats.  We sell your fishing license at the lodge, so the only items you will need to bring are layers of clothes and your camera.  We provide everything else.
  7. We are located on the inside passage so while you are enjoying the day on the ocean you can be assured you are in protected waters, you will have very limited ocean swells and very limited bad ocean conditions to contend with.
  8. Alaska Airlines jet services you onto our island to a town, Petersburg, with twice daily service.  We pick you up at the airport and drive you to the door of our lodge, with a stop at the local off sale liquor store if requested.
  9. Staying at our lodge does not require the additional use of a float plane, boat service to get to our lodge, or generators or cabins.  Your comfort is always our top priority, and fishing is our captain's top priority!
  10. Our boats are inspected by the Coast Guard and we have a license USCG (Coast Guard) Captain at the lodge and guiding your charter fishing boat or available to answer questions regarding the operation of our self guided skiff.
  11. For your peace of mind our lodge (and boat) are now equipped with real time security systems so that any movement will be recorded and alerted on our personal system, which is also a great way to capture the wild life right outside - or any where on our property!
  12. Our rates are the lowest guided fishing rates in the area, we do not charge additional gas fees, taxes or other hidden costs that you are not aware of.  We offer these great cost saving prices because we want everyone to be able to afford the vacation of their dreams.
  13. We offer warm and sincere guest services.  We make sure you know how much we appreciate your stay at Crystal Bay Lodge!
  14. And finally, Lynda was able to check "Seeing a Black Bear" off her bucket list when she took this video at the lodge!
